In 1989, Joseph Panko was seriously injured in an airplane crash while taking off from La Guardia Airport in New York. In that crash he sustained serious and debilitating injuries not the least of which was a closed head injury and multiple spinal fractures. After unsuccessfully attempting to settle the case with multiple insurance carriers, he asked Robert Karney to represent him. In addition, and quite unfortunately, he has been injured in subsequent automobile accidents. This is what he had to say about Robert Karney:
